A new name
Kaamos is now Hemmz
The hotel management platform you may know as Kaamos has a new name. It is the same product, built by the same people.
Kaamos is the Finnish word for the polar night, the weeks in midwinter when the sun stays below the horizon. It was also a word most of the world could not spell on a phone call.
In 2026 the platform became Hemmz. The modules are the same: the booking engine, the front desk, housekeeping, transfers, the restaurant (in pilot) and the billing that ties them together.
Common questions
- Is Hemmz a different product from Kaamos?
- No. Hemmz is the new name of the platform that was called Kaamos. The software, the team and the company behind it, Winch Labs FZ-LLC, are the same.
- Why did the name change?
- Kaamos is a Finnish word, and outside Finland it was often misspelt or mispronounced. Hemmz is short, and easy to say and spell wherever a hotelier happens to be.
- Does anything change for customers who signed as Kaamos?
- The company behind the platform, Winch Labs FZ-LLC, and what each module does are the same. The name on the screens, in emails and on documents moves from Kaamos to Hemmz over time.
